So, I thought the last 9 minutes of 2001, A Space Odyssey would be good to post.

I'm so sorry, but I just never got this ending... I just watched it again and I'm still just like...okay yeah. Any insights?

I think the aliens, aka the black oblisk, allow him to convert all his matter into energy. . .since the two are incontravertable (sp?). . .and he assimilates everything the aliens know. . .he goes back to Earth in energy form, converts back to a baby. . .because he is,um, born again. . .and like the hominids of 3mya. . .he is something like the next step in evolution

wow... I don't know how you got that, but it makes sense.

I'm guess the book was more verbose on this than the movie.
